Introduction/specifics

Our after school care centre in Michaelisstraße was built on historic grounds from 2014 to 2017.

With a total area of 473.37 square meters, it offers various areas such as a small piazza,

a cooking studio, as well as creative and group rooms.

There is a lift for people with disabilities and an open space for gardening and playing.

The school yard of Salztorschule is available for additional activities.

The central location allows for quick access to the city centre,

the cinema, the children's library, the cathedral, and museum.

Our facility is supported by the city of Naumburg.

Rooms

The children live with their primary caregivers in our facility according to their school year in core groups.

This helps establish and nurture bonds and provides a sense of security.

Our group rooms have areas for working or playing at tables,

as well as spaces for various types of construction and role-playing games.

There are mirrors, wardrobes with dress-up items, and building platforms available.

Daily Schedule

6:00 am – 7:25 am Early care with individual play, walk to school.

From approximately 1:00 p.m., homework time begins for students in Grades 1 to 4 in the classrooms of Salztorschule and continues until approximately 2:00 p.m.

The students in Grade 4 go to lunch at 1:00 p.m. and complete their homework until approximately 2:30 p.m.

Afterwards, the children have free time and can use the outdoor areas as well as the after-school care building.

Wednesdays are homework-free days.

Holidays: During the holidays, we have more time for each other, without schoolwork and appointments.

This means creating games, fun, and experiences for and with the children.

The childcare needs are assessed early to plan the necessary staff deployment and organize excursions and activities.

Basics

From the very beginning, we see children as competent and eager learners.

They develop autonomously through play, finding creative solutions to understand the world. In this process,

they need care and guidance from adults. It is important for us to convey joy of life to children

so that they want to develop their lives. They are welcome and accepted as they are.

This promotes the self education of children and creates a foundation

for them to prepare well for future life in this world and become capable of community living.

In our daily work with children, we focus less on the targeted imparting of knowledge.

Instead, we aim to create opportunities for the development of independence, responsible behaviour, and everyday skills.

We approach children empathetically, showing them respect and understanding.

We strive to provide appropriate responses to their signals, questions, and needs.

Employee

In our childcare facility, there are currently 7 female educators and 2 male educators working.

Qualification

All educators in our facility are state certified.

There are appointed practice instructors.

The facility's management holds a B.A. in leadership competence and childhood education

and is responsible for child protection.

Quality Assurance

I apologize for the oversight. We are currently implementing our cooperation agreement with Salztorschule

and are part of the Schools and Daycare Centres Tandem Project of the state of Saxony-Anhalt.
